Description
Using object technology in a project not only affects the design and code, but also influences the very way the project is managed. It changes the relationship between business modelling, systems analysis, design, coding and testing; potentially impacting the initial estimates as well as all other aspects of the development. These issues were all there before object technology was in use but the flexibility of an object technology based project changes the necessary emphases.
This two day workshop sets out to address many aspects of project management and how they are influenced by the use of object technology. In particular, the Rational Unified Process (RUP) is examined to see how the core insights there assist in mitigating the risks in using a conventional process for an object-oriented project.
This workshop is structured as a series of presentations with interspersed discussion groups allowing attendees to explore the issues discussed with reference to their own projects. The experience of the course presenters may therefore be applied to the problems that are most relevant to the course delegates.
